What's open in Oyama on a Monday?

Oyama is quiet on a Monday. It’s a small community of orchards and two lakes, not a strip of restaurants, so the honest answer to “what’s open in Oyama on a Monday?” is: not much, but enough.

Lu Lou’s is open Mondays, 11 am to 7 pm: pizza and hard/soft ice cream only. Authentic Italian-style thin crust, 100% mozzarella, and the full ice cream counter. That’s the Monday board. The rest of the grill, sloppy joes, smash burgers, all-beef dogs and wings, is back Tuesday through Sunday.

Next door, the Oyama General Store is open for the essentials: e-bike, paddleboard and kayak rentals from 9 to 5, a distilled water machine for bottle top-ups, and Canada Post.

And the lakes don’t close. The beach in front of us is public sand, no gate and no fee, and the Okanagan Rail Trail runs right past. Monday is genuinely the best day to have the place to yourself: no weekend line, easy parking, and a whole beach to pick a spot on.

So: a pizza, a cone, and an empty stretch of Wood Lake. Not a bad Monday. See the full menu for the rest of the week.
